Scarlet Street is a dramatic film of 1945 directed by Fritz Lang and interpreted by the same trio of actors - Edward G. Robinson, Joan Bennett and Dan Duryea - that Lang had directed the previous year in the movie "The Woman " with which other similarities, as the central role of painting and, more generally, the dark tones, typical of noir . Unlike what happens in "The Woman", a similar descent into hell of a mature man to a woman's fault, but here no trick to redeem his final despair of the protagonist: it was not a dream and the last image leaves no hope for redemption. Beyond the classic elements like psychoanalysis attempts to isolate the structural data that drives the behavior destructive character and that, besides the roles victim - perpetrator, they share the same tragic fate.
The screening of the movie will be held Thursday, December 16 at 20:00 at the 'Cultural Association "The City of the Sun", Vico G. Maffei 18 (Piazzetta San Gregorio Armeno) Naples.

proposes:
A path woven film of passion and crimes . The noir depicts the relationship between the individual image, the portrait, the double, the ghost and the dream means to the characters and immerse the viewer in a hybrid between delusion and reality, mise en abîme the look and status of consciousness, dominated by mirrors, lights, shadows that constantly duplicate the subject of the scene and undermines their credibility and focus. The plot establishes the domination of the repetition of faces, emotions, places, scenery, events, associative chains, which often do not lead to a conclusion as possible but, through the riddle, the presentification of a spider web, a maze which is not given to escape.
The raw material of the film is to be composed of a series of broken dreams, visions, distressing thoughts, hallucinations masquerading as memories that follow one another seamlessly, fitting into each other. The disturbance and distress resulting from them are played on the pervasiveness of the subjective division, the uncontrolled proliferation of dreamlike, that does not necessarily coincide either with the description of an individual who is sleeping, or with the performance of his dream, but suggest the consubstantiality a dematerialized world and split, in which they become dangerously irrelevant difference and distance that separate forms with thickness from those of pure surface dall'astrattezza the concreteness of the body shapes. The shadow, no longer the opposite of light but lively life of its own, sets out the status of the intangible but very real, as animated by the most unshakeable of drives the universe of passion and crime, one of the most sublime crossings Hades.

Foolish Wives
The antenna of Naples offers a course of reflection, through a support film, which will allow students to discuss the relationship between enjoyment, psychosis and location of the exception of the feminine in the thought of J. Lacan. The protagonists of the films selected are "Foolish Wives," which, in the register of enjoyment not anchored to the phallic reference, drag their lovers in the maelstrom of madness. Will be presented and discussed the concepts of Lacanian: pousse à la femme, feminine jouissance, psychosis. will therefore be possible, because of imaginary signifier film, explore the unique ways through which, in the course of his teaching, J. Lacan tried to answer the question, which Freud remained unresolved, what a woman wants.
