Scarlet Street is a dramatic film of 1945 directed by Fritz Lang and interpreted by the same trio of actors - Edward G. Robinson, Joan Bennett and Dan Duryea - that Lang had directed the previous year in the movie "The Woman " with which other similarities, as the central role of painting and, more generally, the dark tones, typical of noir . Unlike what happens in "The Woman", a similar descent into hell of a mature man to a woman's fault, but here no trick to redeem his final despair of the protagonist: it was not a dream and the last image leaves no hope for redemption.
