Fast Food Restaurant Blueprints

Il Grande Sonno (Howard Hawks, 1946)

P hilip Marlowe, a former policeman and private investigator in Los Angeles, was summoned from the old millionaire to investigate the Sternwood blackmail suffered by her youngest daughter Carmen. His older sister, Vivian, is more interested in knowing what happened to Sean Regan, a former IRA member and former smuggler hired by Sternwood to solve the problems created by the two daughters. Within a few hours, Marlowe finds Carmen in the company of the blackmailer's corpse while someone removes the driver of Sternwood. The investigator begins the investigation by a library that serves as a front for illegal activities and is uncovering a story of gangsters, gambling and murder. Everyone thinks that Marlowe knows more than he knows and the detective is at stake, even if the method can be very risky. And sort out the different textures interwoven, manages to discover the truth, however bitter. It is not the first time that Marlowe is brought to the screen and not the last: the works of Raymond Chandler will provide material to film and television for decades.

The film screening will be held Wednesday, January 19 at 20.30 at the Cultural Association "The City of the Sun" vico G. Maffei 18 (Piazzetta San Gregorio Armeno), Naples.
